Deep MMT Transit Survey of the Open Cluster M37

A deep (15 < r < 23) survey for transiting planets was conducted in the intermediate age open cluster M37 (NGC 2099) using the Megacam wide-field mosaic CCD camera on the 6.5m MMT. The MMT is easily the largest telescope ever utilized for such a survey. The twenty night study yielded over 4000 quality images of the cluster. In a paper recently submitted to the Astrophysical Journal, J. D. Hartman et al. (CfA) present observations, describe the data reduction procedures, and refine estimates for the fundamental cluster parameters. Future papers will present variable star, transiting planets, and stellar rotation results.
